Saint George’s Chapel was built in the 50’s with the community’s contribution and donations. The chapel is located on the west side of the village. It was also built with arches and has only one chamber. Its roof is covered with tiles. It was not built with stone and it is therefore, white on the external.
The parvis is surrounded by tall cypresses, planes and pine trees. The bell tower abuts against the eastern side of the church. This small church has a capacity of only 50 persons. It has a humble interior.
There are no murals. The iconostasis is wooden and simple and it also has wooden holders for the psaltery. Its location is ideal, as it has a marvellous view of the village.
The chapel was in 2002 renovated by Mr. Tassos Televantides.
Services take place at the chapel 6-7 times annually. Eptagonia honours Saint (Agios) George every year on the 23rd of April and 3rd of November with the procession of the icon.
